This recent boudoir shoot by Ashley Sophia Photography is truly a work of art. All of these images were shot on film and the subtle hints of film grain give this shoot a very raw, honest quality. Her model is strinking. She has that classic beauty that renaissance painters went crazy over.
There is a certain level of comfort an warmth to this shoot that we love. Her models eyes draw you in and invite you to become a part of her world for a few brief moments. This shoot is an exceptional example of the power of female portrait photography.

From the Photographer | This session is a little different as it was shot all on film. I'm a hybrid shooter (film and digital) and I found at the end of the day that I liked how her session looked more on film. This was shot on a Nikon FM with a 50mm 1.8. The film I used was Ilford XP2 400 Black & White and FujiColor Superia X-tra 400 Colour.
Ash Gawiuk is a pretty well-known model here on the island and when I met her in person, her hair and her freckles just had me melt away instantly. I like to keep my decorations for my shoots simple but noticeable and I found that these paper flowers did the trick to keeping the focus on her features.
