Let's talk about creativity for a second. It's one of the most challenging aspects of pursing a career in the arts. There's always a need for new inspiration and to push beyond the bounds of your creative limits. It comes with highs and lows, and some days you may even feel burnt out completely with no clue what direction to pursue next. Yet other times you can be riding high on a wave of creative passion amazed with your own mind, and unsure of how you were even ableto achieve the latest creative feat. It's a journey for sure.
For me personally, I pull my inspiration from other people. Nothing can inspire me more than an interesting person stepping in front of my camera. It seems that Buxom Boudoir is the same way. When this amazing photographer and gorgeous model came together for this session they raised the creative bar in a significant way. This shoot was outside of the norm for both of them. Boundaries were pushed, and beauty errupted everywhere.
The use of shadows to create such drama and romance is remarkable. This shoot should serve as an inspiration for photographers and models alike. I challenge each and everyone of you to push yourselves, try something new, and most importantly find someone who inspires you.
From the Photographer | I believe women should celebrate their bodies - every wrinkle, fold, dimple and birthmark. For this shoot, I wanted to create something with a slight pin-up vibe without going there all the way. I used my Canon 70D, YONGNUO YN35mm lens and a prism. This was a creative shoot for both of us. I tried foreshadowing from behind a room dividor that I'd never done before, I used a tapestry on the bed rather than on the wall, and we shot her birthmark, which in the past, she's hidden or asked to be photoshopped out.
