What strikes me the most about Katherine Henry's boudoir series is how captivatingly beautiful the model's eyes are. It is not because of the color, but because of the words they hold within them. The phrase "the eyes are the window to the soul" echoes words of truth as the model playfully glances at the camera and then looks away.
Katherine's simplistic composition has an air of sophistication. The striking earth tones throughout the series paint the winsomeness of the forest. While I am always impressed by the artistry of Katherine's photography, what captivates me as an artist is the diversity of her work. Each series is different while staying true to her simplistic form. I look forward to following Katherine's work further and seeing how she continues to mold her craft to perfection.
From the Photographer | This was taken in the forest not too far from my studio in Reading MA. It's my secret little spot that I love to shoot at. No matter what time of year this location is magical. We decided to take a walk and see what we found - without having any major plan. I'm so glad we let the forest lead us because we found some really cool spots! My favorite spot was an old stone fireplace area. It was a great background. Adding a floral crown and handheld flowers add to the whimsical feel of the shoot. I love the simplicity of it all!
