With much discussion, we have decided to close Lace in Light. We are so grateful for all of the photographers that have contributed to LiL over the years. You have provided us with constant inspiration and helped us personally grow with our own craft of photography.
If you are wondering why, this paragraph is for you! First and foremost our personal evolution has taken us in a different direction. While boudoir and female portrait work will always be a passion, our main focus has shifted into growing our photo company. While it could be possible to continue to run this on the side, our hearts are just not there anymore. We are simply not fans of half ass-ing anything we put our hands on. We hope you understand!
What will happen to Lace in Light now? We will leave the website up to help archive this time period of photography. We hope Lace in Light will continue to motivate photographers, inspire client's, and provide educational tips for this industry. If you have submitted to us and we said yes, please feel free to submit elsewhere. As of today, we will no longer be updating this site.

We go crazy whenever we come across a boudoir shoot that breaks the norm and pushes the boudaries! This black and red pinup boudoir shoot by Melissa Mullins Portraits does just that! She has taken us back in time a few decads with this striking boudoir session. The model's bright red pumps, lipstick, and nails contrast perfectly againt the neutal tones of Melissa's boudoir set.
It is truly amazing how she was able to capture such bold images and then move so flawlessly in and out of some very soft and ethereal photos all while mantaining the same vintage feel. The model's hair and makeup could not have been more perfect. They compliment all of the looks and help contribute to the pinup vibe.
I just don't know what else to say. This shoot is spectacular, and we hope to see many more shoots from Melissa in the future!
From the Photographer | This session was one of the first in my new studio space. My fabulous model Violet June brought so many lovely vintage lingerie pieces that it was only fitting to do a pinup inspired boudoir photoshoot. I love how her red accents pop against the neutral backdrops. I shot this session with my Nikon D700 and a 50mm 1.8 lens.
