With much discussion, we have decided to close Lace in Light. We are so grateful for all of the photographers that have contributed to LiL over the years. You have provided us with constant inspiration and helped us personally grow with our own craft of photography.
If you are wondering why, this paragraph is for you! First and foremost our personal evolution has taken us in a different direction. While boudoir and female portrait work will always be a passion, our main focus has shifted into growing our photo company. While it could be possible to continue to run this on the side, our hearts are just not there anymore. We are simply not fans of half ass-ing anything we put our hands on. We hope you understand!
What will happen to Lace in Light now? We will leave the website up to help archive this time period of photography. We hope Lace in Light will continue to motivate photographers, inspire client's, and provide educational tips for this industry. If you have submitted to us and we said yes, please feel free to submit elsewhere. As of today, we will no longer be updating this site.

I think it's in every woman's DNA to feel a little insecure about her body. As much as we try not to, it's hard to prevent a little insecurity from creeping in. The transition into motherhood is filled with so many changes both physically and mentally. I think pregnancy and those first few months after birth are the time when women are most vulnerable.
Our bodies are capable of an amazing miracle, but so much about our physical appearance changes in the process. It's important to remember to love your body for all it's strength and power. That's why we are so in love with this post baby body boudoir shoot by Yours Truly Portraiture.
This brave mama was able to push all of that insecurity aside and jump infront of the camera. She looks incredible! Having boudoir photos taken is scary. It takes a great bit of coverage to step infront of the camera and decide to feel positive about your body. I would imagine it's even harder after your body has just undergone so many changes. Your Truly Portraiture did a spectaular job of reminding this mama just how gorgeous she is inside and out.
Let's all decide to be a little kind to ourselves today! Scroll down to read more about what inspired with mama to step infront of the camera.
From the Photographer | As a woman who struggles daily with her own insecurities I absolutely adore my opportunity to photograph beauty and boudoir. I believe that a boudoir session is for the woman to inspire and encourage. When she arrived to my studio for hair and makeup she was so nervous she was literally shaking. She had been waiting years and years to indulge in a session for herself and having a 9 month old and a deployed husband she saw this as the perfect opportunity. After seeing herself all dolled up I could tell she began to relax and by the end she was radiating with confidence. She texted me after her viewing and said, "I can totally see why you yourself have had three boudoir sessions, its so addicting. Post baby body be damned I loved the way I looked and felt!"
