Sara June Photography, along with Jillian Dawson Freelance Makeup Artistry, Whisk & Arrow Bakery, and Master's Touch Floral Design collaborated on this styled shoot in a beautifully bright studio. With exposed brick walls and wooden beams, a palette of cream and blush felt perfectly warm. Looks ranged from demure — a cozy blanket and sweater to sexy heels with a hint of naughty in a black strappy set.
The use of a cozy sweater and her wedding dress are great demonstrations that there are tons of easy wardrobe options for the woman who isn't interested in lingerie, or simply doesn't have time to shop for her boudoir experience. The task of lingerie shopping can be incredibly daunting. Consider incorporating clothing options that make you feel the most comfortable, like a sweater or robe, so your genuine self will shine through.
From the Photographer | The session took place in snowy Wisconsin in early January when the temperatures were below zero; inspiration was drawn directly from this! Knowing that the private studio had amazing golden light, we chose to use warm elements (completely opposite from the weather outside) to tell our story. We focused on including knit sweaters, cozy blankets, and wood tones. Long sleeve bodysuits and leg warmers were another comfy addition. Our flowers even mirrored the colors of a summer sunset. We are seeing a trend of brides and grooms moving away from the traditional "day-of" wedding gifts for each other. Modern day brides and grooms are looking for other options that are unlike anything they've gifted before. And you know what? Steamy boudoir albums are a sassy way to let your almost-spouse know you're excited for your wedding day and puts just a whisper of "naughty" in the back of their mind to save for later!
